It has indeed, been a while.

what to say...

what to say...

what to say...

I'm finishing up a super busy week and weekend of homework, papers, and craziness. Thanksgiving is coming soon, and I'm super pumped to go home to be with my family. It's always so nice to be able to drive into the QC's after being at school for a few months. Every time I get onto 74 my heart starts pumpin faster because I know that I am almost home! That feeling will soon be coming to me as I come home in a couple weeks for thanksgiving :) T minus 16 days...

In other news, my worship leading job at Constance is going well. I'm lovin getting to know the students and it's been fun playing on a team with them. Also, my chapel team at Bethel is going super well. We all get along great and click musically. Overall, both of the worship ministries I'm involved in this year have been a huge blessing in my life.

Just when I thought I was going to have an uneventful day...

things changed.

Today, I worked for Tom Evans. Around 4pm I took his yellow lab, Jackson, to the vet. I then headed over to a store where I was going to pick up a new kitchen faucet. Upon arriving, I rolled down my window for Jackson, and went inside. I walked in the door, while talking to a friend on the phone, and soon after, this man in a nice blue shirt started hanging around me. Once i was off the phone, instinct told me he worked there. So I approached him, saying sorry for being on the phone and that I was there to pick up a faucet. He gave me a confused look, so I asked if he worked there. He didn't.

Eventually, I got the faucet and headed back to the car. I was just about to my car when a bird just happened to fly right into my head!! It must not have been paying attention to where it was going, or it just didn't have good flying skills. (I even felt the feathers on my forehead) Strange, I know...but it gets even stranger. After laughing that a bird just flew into my head, I got back into my car. Rolled up the windows. And began my drive to take Jackson back home. About a mile down the road, around 5pm rush hour, on 53rd street(a busy street at 5pm) I just so happened to glance down at my feet for a second...and what did I see??? A big fat, wild bird just sittin there. "Oh my gosh!!!" I kept screaming as I took my foot off of the accelerator and had no idea what to do. So I just turned on my hazard lights and coasted until I found a place I could turn off and get this bird out of my car...oh my gosh!! oh my gosh!!! I just kept screaming it! By the time I found a place to turn off, I could no longer see the bird, which freaked my out even more. What if it starting pecking my foot?? What if it flew up in my face and caused me to crash?? Once the vehicle came to a complete stop, I jumped out and took a look at this bird. It had perched itself high above my brake petal and was just chillin there. I quick snapped a picture with my camera phone, grabbed my ice scraper in my trunk, and poked at the bird until I got it to fly out of my car. And then, I just stood in amazement as my mind replayed what had just happened to me.

I mean, they sure don't tell you what to do in a situation like that in drivers ed!

Moral of the story: Always check the floor/petals of your car before taking off down a busy street in the middle of rush hour.

For the past month...

I've had poison ivy!! The last weekend in June I was four-wheeling in Minnesota and unfortunately, Brittaney and I got it stuck and had to walk back to her house through lots of weeds.(Brittaney is in yellow)

We scrubbed off really well immediately, but apparently that wasn't enough. I got poison ivy days later...and I still have it!!! I've been to the doctor...I've taken two rounds steroids to kill the ivy off...and I still have it. Then about a week ago, I got this mysterious rash on my left arm and left side of my face and ear...so I called the doc. and he sent me to the dermatologist. I'm now putting some sort of cream on this mystery rash. But, yesterday some of the rash showed up on the right side of my arm!! All I know, is that I'm sooo sick of having poison ivy and rashes. It's not fun to be itchy all the time. I'm hoping this will all go away soon!!!

I thought my computer was lying to me

The truth is, I have not been on the internet a whole lot this summer. I've been out of town, working, or the internet at my house hasn't worked. So tonight, when I went to my blog, and saw it said I hadn't updated since June 11, I thought my computer was lying to me. Was this some sort of malfunction and I needed to click the refresh button? Nope, I soon realized I had not updated since June 11.

Summer has been great so far. I just got back from Desperation and it was amazing. I literally got to see people lives being transformed to love Jesus more. I am still in awe, and will forever be thankful. Words can't exactly describe all that I learned and all that Jesus revealed to me.

All Authority, every victory is Yours. We have overcome. By the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. Everyone, Overcome.

Wow, it's been a long time

Sorry for those of you who regularly check my blog. I've been slacking in the updating area.

I'm home from school now. Working two jobs. My first job is being a personal assistant for Tom Evans who owns American Power Systems. It's really quite fun! I basically run around and do errands all day...basically I keep Tom's life organized. It for sure has its crazy moments, but I'm getting lots of experience in MANY different areas. My second job is at the John Deere Store in downtown moline. I'm a clerk...i suppose that's what you could call me. It's a really boring job, but its with a great company and it is giving me good clerical experience for future jobs I may have. I'm also teaching piano and guitar lessons this summer. So for those of you who have kids, give me a call and I'd love to teach them this summer. In my free time on weekends I either play guitar on the worship team at church, or I hang out with friends and/or family.

It's weird not being at school and seeing all my friends. But it's good to be home for the summer and catch up with what's been going on around here.

Got another card in my PO after chem
Got back to my room and there was another present waiting from Liz-candy/card/balloons
Went to my PO- had a package....Tom Evans sent me a whole cake

Had a "small Party"...haha...back in Leah's room. Lit candles and sang happy bday to me and we ate the whole cake

Went on a walk
Ate dinner with Varno
Played some guitar
Varno painted my toe-nails while I colored
Some people from the quad cities called and wished me a happy bday:)

Galactic Pizza

Friday was Sophie's birthday. (my roommate next year) To celebrate we were planning to go to a Thai restaurant in Uptown, but once we saw Galactic Pizza we just had to go there. The last time I was at Galactic pizza was last summer when the youth band took a road trip to Minneapolis. Once again I was able to experience the great pizza, earth friendly restaurant, and Super Heroes. This time there was an added bonus. It was Richard Simmons day. All the waitresses were dressed like Richard Simmons. Here are a few pics of our fun adventure at Galactic Pizza.
